Nicole (Nikki) Lemire, B.Sc., MHSc.OT., OT Reg. (Ont.)
Nikki holds a Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta. Currently employed by the Saskatchewan Health Region, she is joining the ABC Pediatric Therapies in December 2018. She provides OT services in both French and English.
Nikki has experience working with clients of all ages but has a special interesting in working with children and their families. Most recently she worked as the sole OT in the rural community seeing clients in both clinical and home settings, with a 60% pediatric caseload.
Nikki has training in Trauma Informed Sensory Motor Approach and enjoys working with children or youth who require assistance in developing self-regulation, sensory processing, fine motor, gross motor, executive functioning, stress management, and social
skills. Additionally, Nikki has special interest in women’s health and has training in Pelvic Health and Maternal Mental Health. She is also a certified yoga instructor who finds that in many cases, the mind and body connection emphasized in yoga can support occupational therapy goals.
Nikki believes a family centered practice that considers the child’s abilities and activities within the physical and social context of their life provides the best outcomes. Nikki is a creative and caring OT who believes in the importance of play and engagement in meaningful occupations for all. In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, traveling, cooking and doing crafts.
