While searching for resources to work with clients/students that have a difficult time understanding the emotions of others, and their own, I found this little gem on Teachers Pay Teachers "Understanding Basic Emotions to Improve Social Skills".
This packet targets 12 basic emotions. I really appreciated the situational cards that target perspective taking, which is often challenging for the clients that I work with.
To make therapy fun, I simply placed some swords from "Pop-Up Pirate" on each situational card. I then had my munchkins choose a sword, all the while targeting full sentence requests with eye contact, and then had them answer the question before placing the sword in the barrel. All of my students really enjoyed this activity!
